What does OBS offer the new rider?
The OBS Donut Ride
New riders are encouraged to try out the OBS Donut Ride. It occurs each Saturday at 9:00 am at Will Rogers Park - NW 36th and Portland, near the tennis courts.
Ride leaders will lead you and your guests on a 13 mile ride. This is a casual, relaxed pace ride, but we ask that participants be pretty sure they can ride the distance and maintain a pace of at least 8-9 miles per hour minimum. Children are welcomed, but any under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. The route goes 6.5 miles, traveling from the park through historical neighborhoods. We end up at Browns Bakery at NW 10th and Walker, where we will stop for donuts and conversation.
Then we will follow the same or a similar route back to Will Rogers Park, arriving at about 11:15 am
This service is provided by OBS volunteers, but you do not have be a member of OBS to participate. However we hope that you will enjoy the ride and learn about the other benefits and will want to join OBS.
