FCR Rides

The Floating Crapgame Ride (FCR for short) is a November thru March only ride that had its beginnings many years ago when a few friends would contact each other by phone (this was before social media and even before most people had email) and decide on a location and destination for a ride on Saturday morning. Since the ride location “floated”, the FCR moniker was suggested by one of the participants and it stuck.

The ride now has four fixed starting locations, one for each Saturday of the month. The ride leaves the starting location promptly at 9:00. If there is a 5h Saturday in a month, the location of the ride will be posted on the OBS Facebook Group.

This is a casual ride with emphasis more on socializing than on “training”. The average pace is around 12-14 mph with regroups as needed. We stop for “brunch” about midway. Distance is between 25 and 35 miles depending on route.

Note: For 2024 only, the first ride in November will be Nov 9. This will be treated as the 1st Saturday ride. All the other rides will occur on the following three Saturdays.
