Target Parking Lot, west side
Starts at the west side of the Target parking lot, 1200 E 2nd St. This is for people who are new to cycling, want to try out their new bikes or simply want a break from the norm. Our pace is between 8-11 mph (no faster) and we ride about 10-13 miles. It is definitely a leisurely adult ride.
There are rides that tout their heat, and there are rides that tout their hills. Then there is the Norman Conquest, the toughest metric century in Oklahoma, where we say, “Conquer the Hills, Conquer the Heat,” because cyclists who do both can conquer just about anything.
The Norman Conquest has been challenging cyclists from across the state and around the country to take on the July heat and overcome the Eastern Cleveland County hills for a quarter century and the event is now a summertime rite of passage. But if conquests are not really your style, there are more civilized options, such as our 46- and 23-mile routes.
This ride is for those who prefer a more relaxed attitude and pace - about 12-14 mph. The ride starts at a different location each week. The second Saturday of the month starts at Bar-K (901 SE 5th Street)
Distance: 37 miles (on trails).
PLEASE NOTE: Location and/or ride leader may change. Please check the OBS Facebook Group for any changes.
We are going back to our roots in 2021 and finishing in the town where it all started. Leaving from Evergreen, Triple Riders will travel 110 miles and 10,750’ over 3 gorgeous mountain passes - arriving in Vail, Colorado. Prefer something a little shorter? Try the Double Bypass - 65 miles from Georgetown to Vail.
Will Rogers Park Tennis Center Parking Lot
Casual ride suitable for beginners, young riders and anyone who wants to join a group at a pace of 8-10 mph for about 11 miles with a stop for refreshments at a local donut shop or restaurant.
