UNBOUND Gravel was founded in 2006 at a time when gravel grinding was just beginning to pique the interest of the endurance cycling community. Residing in the Flint Hills of Kansas, cyclists come from around the globe to transcend upon these roads and tackle the hilly, tire-shredding, sun-baked gravel we’re infamous for. Inspired by some of the early gravel events, our founders knew that the beauty of this region is best explored on two wheels, and with that, the 200 mile “race” took shape.
Once only offering the 200 mile distance, we now offer a total of five distances: 25, 50, 100, 200, and 350 miles. While the 200 is still our marquee distance, we are proud to offer more options to encourage everyone to ride the Flint Hills.
See our website for events on Thursday and Friday.
Starts in front of Edmond City Hall (Littler & Main). This is for people who are new to cycling, want to try out their new bikes or simply want a break from the norm. Our pace is between 8-10 mph (no faster) and we ride about 8-10 miles. It is definitely a leisurely adult ride.
Will Rogers Park Tennis Center Parking Lot
Casual ride suitable for beginners, young riders and anyone who wants to join a group at a pace of 9-11 mph for about 14 to 18 miles with a stop for refreshments at a local donut shop or restaurant.
